With greater emphasis now placed on Physical Development in the new Early Years Foundation Stage, we decided to introduce a weekly yoga session for our children.
Yoga helps to increase children's self-awareness and self-confidence throught breathing exercises and movement. The sessions are designed to improve motor skills and physical fitness; to use the children's sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.
Physical well-being enhances mental well-being and yoga can help to balance emotions, relax the mind and strengthen concentration.
Above all yoga is fun!
PLEASE NOTE: During the terms that yoga is running at nursery, YOGA BAGS are now available so that you can enjoy yoga at home with your child. Please ask Amanda if you would like to borrow one.
