This week we have really enjoyed looking on Tapestry at all the holiday pictures from half term…lots of our children have been very busy and this recall is a fantastic opportunity to support their speech and language and boost their confidence and self esteem.

We also celebrated World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, so as part of our ECO Schools learning, we have been thinking about the world around us, looking at plant and animals that live in different places on earth and thinking about how we can keep them safe by looking after our environment…the children were very passionate about not cutting down trees, recycling items and not wasting water and electricity. We have also read stories and sang songs about our wonderful planet to help us to appreciate all the things that live there.

We’ve been continuing to support our children’s self-help skills too. Practising taking off and putting on our shoes and wellies and remembering to peg them together outside. We’ve been remembering to put our jumpers and cardigans in the box or on our pegs if we are not wearing them, to help our children to be more responsible for their own belongings…a very important skill particularly for those children who leave us for big school in September.
