10/10/2020: #HelloYellow. Wearing Yellow to raise awareness and show support for positive mental health and wellbeing.

It is so important for both children and adults to understand the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing, that keeping our minds and brains fit and healthy is as important ad our bodies and for children to realise that our minds can get poorly too, just like our bodies and so it is really important to take steps to look after them.

Friday was our last day at nursery before 11th October which was World Mental Health Day.  We raised awareness and showed our support of YoungMinds, a charity that supports children’s Mental Health, by wearing something yellow and doing lots of yellow activities! The children and staff looked great and it gave us the opportunity to discuss not only their right to learn about how to keep their minds (and bodies) healthy (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child A24/ A31) but also to discuss the importance of helping others. We even launched a Mental Health Challenge on Tapestry, to get everyone involved in realising the importance of positive Mental Health for all.

Supporting mental health is so important, especially now with the current challenges in our world.

It’s particularly important that you support and take care of the mental health of yourself and your children and indeed your whole family. There are lots of things you can do, and additional support is available if you need it.

Here are some links that we have found that may be useful to support you and your family.
