Our Christmas concerts have moved to the next level! 18/12/14

Our Christmas Concerts were a fantastic success again this year.

We were very excited to move them to a whole new level too, with an exciting change of venue!

The concerts for both morning and afternoon children took place at The Postmill Centre in the village which allowed us to invite even more visitors to experience our wonderful performance.

We welcomed a record number of parents, carers, granparents, governors and friends of the nursery who all enjoyed a 40 minute musical extraveganza!

The children had been learning the songs, signs and movements as part of our Expressive arts 'music' curriculum through which children learn about singing and music as well as rhythm, steady beat and pitch.

Our nursery children really enjoyed performing a range of traditional and modern songs celebrating Christmas and the winter season. These songs included old favourites like 'Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star' and 'Father Christmas He Got Stuck' as well as  new favourites such as 'When the Robots Came to Dinner' and 'Rudolph Red'...to name just a few. Of course we finished our performance by singing 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas.

We also performed a special song at the end of the concert to say thanks you and goodbye to our Headteacher Angela who is leaving us at Christmas. Angela made a lovely speech and the governors presented her with gifts bought by the parents and governors, to say thank you.

Many to thanks to Isi and Barry for their kind words and to all the parents and governors for their generous contributions towards Angela's gifts.

All the children sung, danced and signed brilliantly to the large audience of proud families and friends.

Very well done to all our nursery children and many thanks to all our families, friends and governors who supported this event.
