Charity Fund Raising for Children in Need 2016: 18/11/16

We had a great time in nursery today with special activities to support our learning about Children in Need.

We started the day with lots of pictures, discussion and videos about  'Children in Need' or 'Pudsey Day' to help us to understand about how Pudsey and the money raised for Children in Need supports children who are less fortunate than us.

We then thought about what we were doing at South Normanton Nursery School to support todays charity event and said that our money would be used to help other children to be happier and have a better life.

The children and their brought in a donation and wore their own special clothes instead of school uniform. Lots of children also wore special T shirts and Pudsey or Blush ears. Many thanks for your donations... all the money raised will go to the BBC 'Children in Need' fund.

During the day we made Pudsey and Blush masks and badges, we wrote about Pudsey and had lots of other spotty activities in the nursery and nursery garden.

We were so lucky to have Pudsey Bear pay us a visit in nursery too. He had lots of photos taken with us and helped us with our learning. The children were very excited and made pictures for him and some children also  measured him because he was so big! Many thanks to Pudsey for taking the time on this very busy day to come to South Normanton Nursery...it was really lovely to see you.

All of todays activities and our special visitor, helped our children to learn about the importance of giving, helping others and being kind to other people which is a valuable part of our Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED) and our British Values curriculum.
