Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is an important date in the calendar and it is very important for children to learn a little about it's meaning, even at an early age.
At nursery we talked to the children about the important people (soldiers) who work together to resolve disagreements ("fallings out" ) and in doing this, help to keep us safe. We said that the poppy flowers help us to remember and say thank you to these special people
We looked at some pictures of soldiers and poppies, we also made our very own special poppies to wear in nursery too and listened to The Last Post whilst we were all silent for a minute.
When we had made our poppies, some of us sang a special song to help us to remember what we'd learnt.
