What a Wonderful Nativity: 19/12/17

This years nursery Nativity plays were again a huge success…possibly the best ever!

We were very excited to return to The Postmill Centre on Monday as performing there gives our nativity an even more professional touch. We invited many visitors to experience our wonderful performances, including parents, carers, grandparents friends and governors the room was absolutely packed with people enjoying our musical and acting extravaganza!

The children had been practising their storytelling and learning the songs, signs and movements as part of our Expressive Arts 'Music' curriculum through which children learn about singing and music as well as rhythm, steady beat and pitch.

Each of the nursery children had their own part and their very own special costume and they really enjoyed performing a range of traditional and modern songs to tell the story of Jesus’s birth. Songs included old favourites like 'Away in a Manger’ as well as new songs such as 'There Were Shepherds.’ This year we even had some brilliant solo singing performances too and all the children remembered their lines as well...wow!

The children told the story brilliantly…we were really proud of them and at the end of our performance we celebrated by dancing all the way around the audience, to a popular new multicultural song! To end we sang together with the all the grown ups 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas.

At the end of the performance Stephanie and Moira drew the raffle and gave out lots of lovely prizes. We thank you for all the generous contributions of prizes from parents, staff and local companies.

Very well done to all our nursery children and many thanks to all our families, friends and governors who supported this event.

We hope you enjoy looking at a selection of our photos to re-live the experience.
