Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is an important date in the calendar and it is very important for children to learn a little about it's meaning, even at an early age.
At nursery we talked to the children about a big disagreement ("falling out" ) that happened many years ago.
We then talked about the important people who worked together to resolve the disagreement (sort out the big falling out" ) and in doing this, helped to keep us safe and we said that the poppy flowers help us to remember and say thank you to these special people
We looked at some pictures of soldiers and poppies and listened to The Last Post and we also made our own poppies in nursery too.
When we had made our popppies, we sang a special song to help us to remember what we'd learnt.
