20/11/2020: UNICEF World Children's Day and our Rights Respecting promise

On Friday it was UNICEF World Children's Day and we took the opportunity to remind ourselves of the Rights of every child.

In Big Thinkers this week we talked about what our rights are, how we enjoy them in nursery and that the grown ups (our parents and the staff at nursery) help us to enjoy our rights.

We looked at some great posters that we are going to put up in nursery that show all of our rights which help us to understand a bit more clearly about what our rights are in nursery.

We reminded ourselves with symbols to help us, that every child in the world has the same rights and looked at some pictures that helped us to understand that not all children around the world can enjoy them.

In nursery we made a rights respecting promise by printing with our fingers onto leaves and then adding our photos. This was our promise to do good learning and keep ourselves and others safe in nursery.

Next week we are going to put them on our tree in nursery with our finger prints as a  reminder of our promise and our photos to show that we are all individual and all special.
