24/09/21: United Nations International Day of Peace
This week we learnt about and very special day in the international calendar, The United Nations International Day of Peace. We read a story to help us to begin to understand about what peace meant and talked about the UN being an organisation that helps people all over the world to be peaceful, keep safe and be friendly and cooperate with each other. We discussed the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) and how this applied to all children and is there to keep children safe and well.
We also talked about being friends in nursery and practised our sign for friends.
This learning is an important part of our PSED curriculum, but also links directly into our learning about British Values and our Rights Respecting Schools pledge.
