Harvest/ Autumn Activity Day: 23/10/14

Our Harvest and Autumn  Activity Day was great success again this year!

Both children and parents really enjoyed joining in with our Harvest and Autumn activities, in nursery and in the nursery garden.

We learnt about the autumn harvest and about growing food to feed ourselves and others. We also talked about the  importance of giving and sharing food with others who do not have as much as we do.

Our children and families enjoyed threadinng leaves, hunting for pictures on the pumpkins, making painty conker pictures, sparkly leaves and eating some lovely seasonal vegetable soup.In the nursery garden we hunted for leafy numbers and played skittles with giant pumpkins.

We had lots of generous donations of food for the South Normanton Food bank which will help families in crisis. Reverend Potter from the local church came in to speak to the children and their families and was very grateful for all the support. Many thanks to everyone who donated and helped with this great cause.

Many thanks to all who supported us at nursery in making this day of harvesty playing and learning at nursery lots and lots of fun and thanks also for your donations to the Food Bank to help those in need.

At the end of the session we all sang our Harvest Song 'The Harvest Table' to remind us about the importance of giving to others.
