Nursery Trips to the Tropical Butterfly House. 18/06 & 19/06 2015

We all had a really lovely time on our nursery trips to The Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconary Centre near to Sheffield on the 18th and 19th June. We had lots of sunshine on Thursday and a few more clouds on Friday...but we still really enjoyed ourselves and did lots of fantastic learning.

Our bus driver John was fantastic and we even had some tunes playing en route to the park to settle us all down.

We really enjoyed exploring the whole park and the butterfly house. We saw and learned about a wide variety of different animals.  Meercats, porcupines, lemurs and parrots, butterflies, lizards, snakes, bats and spiders, goats, chickens, ducks and peacocks, guinea pigs, chinchillas, otters and chipmunks. Some were furry and some had scales, some had feathers or prickles or even shells. We did some really great talking about the things that we saw, used our kind touching hands  to carefully touch the animals that we were allowed to and then remembered to wash our hands afterwards.

We also had fun and used our physical skills on the adventure playground. We did  lots of climbing, swinging and balancing and pedling the tractors and cars! We dug in the sand, went on the zip wire and some of us even did a running race to see which animal we were as fast as.

It really was a fantastic day and it was great to see parents, carers and grandparents and also some younger siblings and tiddlers on our trip too. We hope you all had lots of fun!

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the park for all their help, to our lovely bus driver John and to all the staff for their hard work.
